World English Bible Jesus came to them and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.

Tout pouvoir ou toute autorité, dans le ciel et sur la terre.

Jusqu'ici, Jésus était sur la terre, dans son état d'humiliation, sous sa forme de serviteur. (Philippiens 2.7)

Maintenant, par sa résurrection, par son retour dans le ciel, au sein de sa gloire, (Jean 17.5) il entre en plein dans sa royauté divine, où toutes choses lui sont soumises. (Ephésiens 1.20-23 ; Philippiens 2.9-11)

Cette puissance et cette autorité divines sont le fondement et le garant de la mission qu'il va donner aux disciples, et dont l'impossibilité les aurait effrayés sans cette assurance-là. (Voir aussi le dernier mot de ce discours, verset 20)
