Vous révoltez-vous contre le roi ? : Il est aisé de deviner ce que vous ferez dès que vous aurez des murs pour vous protéger.

L'hostilité de la « semence du serpent », (des méchants), contre la cause de Christ n'est confinée à aucun âge ni à aucune nation.

L'application que nous pouvons tirer de ce texte est claire. L'église requiert-elle notre aide ? Est-elle dans la désolation, exposée aux assauts de l'ennemi ? Son manque de vigueur vous laisse-t-il insensible ? Qu'aucune affaire, ni plaisir, ni vaine cause, ne puisse ne détourner notre attention de notre assemblée !

Que l'avenir de Sion et sa prospérité ne nous laissent pas indifférents !
