Connaissons, cherchons à connaître l'Éternel ; Sa venue est aussi certaine que celle de l'aurore. Il viendra pour nous comme la pluie, Comme la pluie du printemps qui arrose la terre.

World English Bible Let us acknowledge Yahweh. Let us press on to know Yahweh. As surely as the sun rises, Yahweh will appear. He will come to us like the rain, like the spring rain that waters the earth."

Le peuple, auquel le prophète a reproché comme l'un de ses plus grands péchés le manque de connaissance de l'Eternel, s'exhorte lui-même à rechercher cette connaissance, comme s'il pouvait l'obtenir par son propre effort ; et il compte qu'aussitôt après, le salut divin brillera sur lui comme le soleil, sur le lever duquel on peut compter, ou descendra sur lui comme la pluie qui, peu avant la moisson, achève de faire mûrir les blés.
