Why does Yahweh bring us to this land, to fall by the sword? Our wives and our little ones will be a prey: wouldn't it be better for us to return into Egypt?"

If Yahweh delights in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it to us; a land which flows with milk and honey.

Le paresseux découvre partout, pour s'excuser de son inaction, des difficultés imaginaires ; sa route lui apparaît fermée par des épines. Les hommes droits trouvent devant eux une route facile à parcourir, parce qu'ils savent que Dieu est avec eux. Il y a entre paresseux et hommes droits une antithèse aisée à saisir : le paresseux n'est pas un homme droit, puisqu'il trouve toutes sortes de faux-fuyants pour se dispenser de ses devoirs.
