L'huile (21.17) est celle dont les convives s'oignaient, dans les maisons riches ; et le parfum ou l'encens est celui qu'on brûlait dans les salles de festin pour embaumer l'air. A ces raffinements de luxe oriental sont comparées les douces paroles que vous adresse un ami riche en bons conseils.

La douceur d'un ami, par un conseil cordial, littéralement : La douceur de son ami, se manifestant par le conseil de l'âme.

      17 Moses' father-in-law said to him, "The thing that you do is not good.
