Les os s'attachent à ma chair. Trait analogue à celui de Psaumes 22.18 : Je compterais tous mes os. La chair ne dissimule plus les os ; elle semble faire un avec eux tant ils sont saillants. Cet état d'épuisement, provoqué par le manque complet de nourriture (verset 5), est encore augmenté par le travail intérieur de l'âme du psalmiste (à force de gémir).
