L'affligé. Tel est le nom que nous avons vu si souvent déjà donné au croyant méprisé et opprimé (Psaumes 9.13,19 ; 10.2,9 ; 12.6). Voir Psaumes 18.28, note ; 1Corinthiens 15.19. Dans cet état de faiblesse vis-à-vis du monde, le fidèle forme des projets, soit pour remédier à son triste état, soit pour avancer la gloire de Dieu, mais le méchant se hâte de les contrecarrer. Seulement, à son tour, le méchant sera déçu, puisque l'Eternel est le refuge du fidèle. Aussi le psalmiste s'écrie-t-il ironiquement : Réduisez à néant... ; l'Eternel est là !
