1 Corinthiens 13

    • L'amour

      1 Quand je parlerais les langues des hommes et des anges, si je n’ai pas l’amour, je suis du bronze qui résonne ou une cymbale qui retentit.

      2 Et quand j’aurais (le don) de prophétie, la science de tous les mystères et toute la connaissance, quand j’aurais même toute la foi jusqu’à transporter des montagnes, si je n’ai pas l’amour, je ne suis rien.

      3 Et quand je distribuerais tous mes biens pour la nourriture (des pauvres), quand je livrerais même mon corps pour être brûlé, si je n’ai pas l’amour, cela ne me sert de rien.

      4 L’amour est patient, l’amour est serviable, il n’est pas envieux ; l’amour ne se vante pas, il ne s’enfle pas d’orgueil,

      5 il ne fait rien de malhonnête, il ne cherche pas son intérêt, il ne s’irrite pas, il ne médite pas le mal,

      6 il ne se réjouit pas de l’injustice, mais il se réjouit de la vérité ;

      7 il pardonne tout, il croit tout, il espère tout, il supporte tout.

      8 L’amour ne succombe jamais. Que ce soient les prophéties, elles seront abolies ; les langues, elles cesseront ; la connaissance, elle sera abolie.

      9 Car c’est partiellement que nous connaissons ; c’est partiellement que nous prophétisons ;

      10 mais quand ce qui est parfait sera venu, ce qui est partiel sera aboli.

      11 Lorsque j’étais enfant, je parlais comme un enfant, je pensais comme un enfant, je raisonnais comme un enfant ; lorsque je suis devenu homme, j’ai aboli ce qui était de l’enfant.

      12 Aujourd’hui nous voyons au moyen d’un miroir, d’une manière confuse, mais alors, nous verrons face à face ; aujourd’hui je connais partiellement, mais alors, je connaîtrai comme j’ai été connu.

      13 Maintenant donc ces trois choses demeurent : la foi, l’espérance, l’amour ; mais la plus grande, c’est l’amour.
    • L'amour

      1 Quand je parlerais toutes les langues des hommes, et même des Anges, si je n'ai pas la charité, je suis [comme] l'airain qui résonne, ou [comme] la cymbale retentissante.

      2 Et quand j'aurais le don de prophétie, que je connaîtrais tous les mystères, [et que j'aurais] toute sorte de science ; et quand j'aurais toute la foi [qu'on puisse avoir], en sorte que je transportasse les montagnes, si je n'ai pas la charité, je ne suis rien.

      3 Et quand je distribuerais tout mon bien pour la nourriture des pauvres, et que je livrerais mon corps pour être brûlé, si je n'ai pas la charité : cela ne me sert de rien.

      4 La charité est patience ; elle est douce ; la charité n'est point envieuse ; la charité n'use point d'insolence ; elle ne s'enorgueillit point ;

      5 Elle ne se porte point déshonnêtement ; elle ne cherche point son propre profit ; elle ne s'aigrit point ; elle ne pense point à mal ;

      6 Elle ne se réjouit point de l'injustice ; mais elle se réjouit de la vérité ;

      7 Elle endure tout, elle croit tout, elle espère tout, elle supporte tout.

      8 La charité ne périt jamais, au lieu que quant aux prophéties, elles seront abolies ; et quant aux Langues, elles cesseront ; et quant à la connaissance, elle sera abolie.

      9 Car nous connaissons en partie, et nous prophétisons en partie.

      10 Mais quand la perfection sera venue, alors ce qui est en partie sera aboli.

      11 Quand j'étais enfant, je parlais comme un enfant, je jugeais comme un enfant, je pensais comme un enfant ; mais quand je suis devenu homme, j'ai aboli ce qui était de l'enfance.

      12 Car nous voyons maintenant par un miroir obscurément, mais alors nous verrons face à face ; maintenant je connais en partie, mais alors je connaîtrai selon que j'ai été aussi connu.

      13 Or maintenant ces trois choses demeurent, la foi, l'espérance, et la charité ; mais la plus excellente de ces [vertus] c'est la charité.
    • L'amour

      1 If I speak with the languages of men and of angels, but don't have love, I have become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal.

      2 If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but don't have love, I am nothing.

      3 If I dole out all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but don't have love, it profits me nothing.

      4 Love is patient and is kind; love doesn't envy. Love doesn't brag, is not proud,

      5 doesn't behave itself inappropriately, doesn't seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil;

      6 doesn't rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;

      7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

      8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Where there are various languages, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with.

      9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part;

      10 but when that which is complete has come, then that which is partial will be done away with.

      11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child. Now that I have become a man, I have put away childish things.

      12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, even as I was also fully known.

      13 But now faith, hope, and love remain--these three. The greatest of these is love.
    • L'amour

      1 Ἐὰν ταῖς γλώσσαις τῶν ἀνθρώπων λαλῶ καὶ τῶν ἀγγέλων, ἀγάπην δὲ μὴ ἔχω, γέγονα χαλκὸς ἠχῶν ἢ κύμβαλον ἀλαλάζον.

      2 καὶ ἐὰν ἔχω προφητείαν καὶ εἰδῶ τὰ μυστήρια πάντα καὶ πᾶσαν τὴν γνῶσιν, ⸄καὶ ἐὰν⸅ ἔχω πᾶσαν τὴν πίστιν ὥστε ὄρη μεθιστάναι, ἀγάπην δὲ μὴ ἔχω, οὐθέν εἰμι.

      3 καὶ ἐὰν ψωμίσω πάντα τὰ ὑπάρχοντά μου, ⸄καὶ ἐὰν⸅ παραδῶ τὸ σῶμά μου, ἵνα καυθήσομαι, ἀγάπην δὲ μὴ ἔχω, οὐδὲν ὠφελοῦμαι.

      4 Ἡ ἀγάπη μακροθυμεῖ, χρηστεύεται ἡ ἀγάπη, οὐ ζηλοῖ ἡ ἀγάπη, οὐ περπερεύεται, οὐ φυσιοῦται,

      5 οὐκ ἀσχημονεῖ, οὐ ζητεῖ τὰ ἑαυτῆς, οὐ παροξύνεται, οὐ λογίζεται τὸ κακόν,

      6 οὐ χαίρει ἐπὶ τῇ ἀδικίᾳ, συγχαίρει δὲ τῇ ἀληθείᾳ·

      7 πάντα στέγει, πάντα πιστεύει, πάντα ἐλπίζει, πάντα ὑπομένει.

      8 Ἡ ἀγάπη οὐδέποτε πίπτει. εἴτε δὲ προφητεῖαι, καταργηθήσονται· εἴτε γλῶσσαι, παύσονται· εἴτε γνῶσις, καταργηθήσεται.

      9 ἐκ μέρους γὰρ γινώσκομεν καὶ ἐκ μέρους προφητεύομεν·

      10 ὅταν δὲ ἔλθῃ τὸ τέλειον, τὸ ἐκ μέρους καταργηθήσεται.

      11 ὅτε ἤμην νήπιος, ἐλάλουν ὡς νήπιος, ἐφρόνουν ὡς νήπιος, ἐλογιζόμην ὡς νήπιος· ὅτε γέγονα ἀνήρ, κατήργηκα τὰ τοῦ νηπίου.

      12 βλέπομεν γὰρ ἄρτι δι’ ἐσόπτρου ἐν αἰνίγματι, τότε δὲ πρόσωπον πρὸς πρόσωπον· ἄρτι γινώσκω ἐκ μέρους, τότε δὲ ἐπιγνώσομαι καθὼς καὶ ἐπεγνώσθην.

      13 νυνὶ δὲ μένει πίστις, ἐλπίς, ἀγάπη· τὰ τρία ταῦτα, μείζων δὲ τούτων ἡ ἀγάπη.

      Esaïe 57

      12 I will declare your righteousness; and as for your works, they shall not profit you.

      Jérémie 7

      8 Behold, you trust in lying words, that can't profit.

      Daniel 3

      16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered the king, Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter.
      17 If it be [so], our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace; and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king.
      18 But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods, nor worship the golden image which you have set up.
      19 Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his appearance was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: [therefore] he spoke, and commanded that they should heat the furnace seven times more than it was usually heated.
      20 He commanded certain mighty men who were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, [and] to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.
      21 Then these men were bound in their pants, their tunics, and their mantles, and their [other] garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
      22 Therefore because the king's commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
      23 These three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
      24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished, and rose up in haste: he spoke and said to his counselors, Didn't we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered the king, True, O king.
      25 He answered, Look, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they are unharmed; and the aspect of the fourth is like a son of the gods.
      26 Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace: he spoke and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, you servants of the Most High God, come forth, and come here. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came forth out of the midst of the fire.
      27 The satraps, the deputies, and the governors, and the king's counselors, being gathered together, saw these men, that the fire had no power on their bodies, nor was the hair of their head singed, neither were their pants changed, nor had the smell of fire passed on them.
      28 Nebuchadnezzar spoke and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent his angel, and delivered his servants who trusted in him, and have changed the king's word, and have yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

      Matthieu 6

      1 "Be careful that you don't do your charitable giving before men, to be seen by them, or else you have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.
      2 Therefore when you do merciful deeds, don't sound a trumpet before yourself, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may get glory from men. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward.
      3 But when you do merciful deeds, don't let your left hand know what your right hand does,
      4 so that your merciful deeds may be in secret, then your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

      Matthieu 7

      22 Many will tell me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, didn't we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works?'
      23 Then I will tell them, 'I never knew you. Depart from me, you who work iniquity.'

      Matthieu 23

      5 But all their works they do to be seen by men. They make their phylacteries broad, enlarge the fringes of their garments,

      Luc 18

      22 When Jesus heard these things, he said to him, "You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have, and distribute it to the poor. You will have treasure in heaven. Come, follow me."
      28 Peter said, "Look, we have left everything, and followed you."

      Luc 19

      8 Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, "Behold, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor. If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much."

      Luc 21

      3 He said, "Truly I tell you, this poor widow put in more than all of them,
      4 for all these put in gifts for God from their abundance, but she, out of her poverty, put in all that she had to live on."

      Jean 6

      63 It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life.

      Jean 12

      43 for they loved men's praise more than God's praise.

      Jean 13

      37 Peter said to him, "Lord, why can't I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you."

      Jean 15

      13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

      Actes 21

      13 Then Paul answered, "What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus."

      1 Corinthiens 13

      3 If I dole out all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but don't have love, it profits me nothing.

      Galates 5

      26 Let's not become conceited, provoking one another, and envying one another.

      Philippiens 1

      15 Some indeed preach Christ even out of envy and strife, and some also out of good will.
      16 The former insincerely preach Christ from selfish ambition, thinking that they add affliction to my chains;
      17 but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the Good News.
      18 What does it matter? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed. I rejoice in this, yes, and will rejoice.
      20 according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will in no way be disappointed, but with all boldness, as always, now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life, or by death.
      21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

      Philippiens 2

      3 doing nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself;

      1 Timothée 4

      8 For bodily exercise has some value, but godliness has value in all things, having the promise of the life which is now, and of that which is to come.

      Hébreux 13

      9 Don't be carried away by various and strange teachings, for it is good that the heart be established by grace, not by food, through which those who were so occupied were not benefited.

      Jacques 2

      14 What good is it, my brothers, if a man says he has faith, but has no works? Can faith save him?
      15 And if a brother or sister is naked and in lack of daily food,
      16 and one of you tells them, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled"; and yet you didn't give them the things the body needs, what good is it?
      17 Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead in itself.
