Etrangère à l'orgueil, toujours humble, elle ne se permet aucun de ces procédés qu'on n'avoue point, dont on a honte, même devant les hommes. (Grec : "elle ne fait rien de honteux.") En général, ces caractères de la charité, donnés ainsi d'une manière négative, sont autant de censures des misères que Paul voyait à Corinthe, et dans le cœur de l'homme.

Elle détruit au contraire l'égoïsme, qui est la racine de tout péché.

Ou "n'impute point le mal" pour en tirer vengeance ; elle l'oublie.
