Elle n'a aucune joie secrète et maligne quand elle voit un frère tomber dans le péché, elle s'en afflige, et se réjouit de la vérité (pratique), c'est-à-dire de la sainteté.

- Nous traduisons littéralement : "Elle se réjouit avec la vérité." Comme l'apôtre dans tous ces versets personnifie la charité, il le fait de même quant à la vérité, en sorte que l'une, rencontrant l'autre, se réjouit avec elle ; et cette joie, c'est le cœur aimant qui l'éprouve, par sympathie, et parce qu'il aime ce qui glorifie Dieu, la vérité !
