1 Corinthiens 2.9

C’est bien comme le dit l’Écriture, cette sagesse que nous annonçons fait partie de ce que l’œil n’a point vu, que l’oreille n’a pas entendu, donc de ce que l’imagination de l’homme n’aurait jamais soupçonné, et que Dieu tient en réserve pour ceux qui l’aiment.
Mais c’est, comme il est écrit : Ce que l’œil n’a pas vu, Ce que l’oreille n’a pas entendu, Et ce qui n’est pas monté au cœur de l’homme, Tout ce que Dieu a préparé pour ceux qui l’aiment.
En effet, les Livres Saints disent : « Il y a des choses que les yeux ne voient pas. Les oreilles ne les entendent pas, les êtres humains n’y ont jamais pensé. Eh bien, ces choses-là, Dieu les a préparées en faveur de ceux qui ont de l’amour pour lui. »
