Grec : "Vous êtes de Christ, et Christ est de Dieu." En s'élevant ainsi des créatures au Créateur, l'apôtre indique à la fois la garantie et la couronne de tous les privilèges de l'enfant de Dieu qu'il vient d'énumérer.

Etre de Christ doit suffire au chrétien pour qu'il ne soit plus ni d'Apollos, ni de Céphas, ni d'aucun homme ; d'autant plus qu'en appartenant à Christ, il appartient à Dieu luimême, parce que Christ est l'image du Dieu invisible, (Colossiens 1.15) la splendeur de sa gloire, (Hébreux 1.3) un avec le Père. (Jean 10.30)

Le même rapport de communion et d'amour qui existe entre le Père et le Fils, est rétabli par le Médiateur entre le Père et ses enfants. (Jean 17.21,22)

- Quelques interprètes ont voulu voir dans ces dernières paroles un avertissement donné au parti de l'Eglise de Corinthe qui se réclamait exclusivement, et non sans orgueil, du nom de Christ. Paul voudrait élever leur pensée jusqu'à Dieu, pour les ramener à l'unité suprême. C'est possible.
