Le parvis intérieur. L'auteur désigne par ce nom la première cour qui environnait l'édifice du temple et où fonctionnaient les sacrificateurs. Ce parvis est appelé aussi parvis des sacrificateurs (2Chroniques 4.9). C'est le seul dont parle le livre des Rois. Mais ce nom même suppose un second parvis, une cour plus extérieure encore, que mentionne le livre des Chroniques (2Chroniques 4.9) et dont il attribue aussi la construction à Salomon. Si le parvis intérieur avait une dimension double de celui du Tabernacle, comme c'était le cas de toutes les autres parties du sanctuaire, il devait former un rectangle de deux cents coudées de long et de cent coudées de large (112 X 56 m) ; comparez Exode 27.9-13 ; 28.9-13. Ezéchiel, dans son nouveau temple, lui assigne cent coudées de chaque côté, de manière à en faire un carré parfait (Ezéchiel 40.47).

Trois rangées... Cette enceinte n'était pas assez élevée pour empêcher le peuple de voir ce qui se passait dans le parvis des sacrificateurs.
