Le Seigneur Jésus dit et répète : Je viens bientôt ; (versets 7,20) l'Esprit de Dieu dans le cœur des fidèles (Romains 8.15,16 ; Galates 4.6) et l'Epouse, l'Eglise entière du Sauveur, (Apocalypse 21.2,9) lui répondent en soupirant après son apparition : Viens ! Et Jean exhorte quiconque entend cet appel de l'Esprit et de l'épouse à unir sa voix à l'ardente et unanime supplication de l'Église : Viens !

Faire monter ou non ce cri du cœur vers Jésus, c'est la marque certaine qu'on est ou qu'on n'est pas en communion avec lui. Pour toute âme régénérée, la venue de son Sauveur est le sujet suprême de sa joie ; pour le monde, c'est un sujet de terreur.
