12 à 17 L'Eternel a unjour marqué pour abattre tout ce qui s'élève ; ce jour est celui du jugement où les hommes rendront compte de l'emploi de leur vie et verront disparaître tous les objets de leur orgueil et de leur confiance (Matthieu 23.12)

En ce jour de l'Eternel, lui seul régnera. Comparez dans Joël chapitres 2 et 3 et Esaïe chapitre 34, la description de la journée de l'Eternel jugeant les peuples. A cette expression correspond dans le Nouveau Testament celle de jour du Seigneur.
