Esaïe 44.23

רָנּ֨וּ שָׁמַ֜יִם כִּֽי־עָשָׂ֣ה יְהוָ֗ה הָרִ֙יעוּ֙ תַּחְתִּיּ֣וֹת אָ֔רֶץ פִּצְח֤וּ הָרִים֙ רִנָּ֔ה יַ֖עַר וְכָל־עֵ֣ץ בּ֑וֹ כִּֽי־גָאַ֤ל יְהוָה֙ יַֽעֲקֹ֔ב וּבְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל יִתְפָּאָֽר׃
Oui, le Seigneur agit. Ciel, manifeste ta joie. Profondeurs de la terre, faites-lui une ovation. Arbres, forêts, montagnes, éclatez en cris de joie. Le Seigneur a libéré son peuple, il manifeste sa gloire en sauvant Israël.

Les cieux et la terre ont été pris à témoin du péché d'Israël (1.2) et s'en sont comme épouvantés (Jérémie 2.12-13). Ils doivent maintenant se réjouir avec le peuple éternel pardonné et purifié.

Il y a ici une personnification poétique de la nature. Mais cette forme repose sur une réalité. L'homme étant le roi de la création, tout l'univers doit participer avec lui au salut. Le monde moral et le monde extérieur forment une unité.
