Esaïe 54.10

Les montagnes peuvent bouger, les collines peuvent changer de place, mais l’amour que j’ai pour toi ne changera jamais, l’alliance que j’ai établie avec toi pour te rendre heureuse ne bougera jamais. C’est moi le SEIGNEUR qui te dis cela, dans ma tendresse. »

World English Bible For the mountains may depart, and the hills be removed; but my loving kindness shall not depart from you, neither shall my covenant of peace be removed," says Yahweh who has mercy on you.

Cette alliance subsistera même au milieu de catastrophes plus grandes que celle du déluge ; elle demeurerait quand ce qu'il y a de plus antique et de plus inébranlable dans le monde viendrait à crouler (comparez Habakuk 3.6 ; Psaumes 46.3-4 ; Romains 8.38-39). Le ciel et la terre passeront, mais non la promesse de Dieu (51.6 ; comparez Jérémie 31.35-37).
