Ezéchiel 10.2

He spoke to the man clothed in linen, and said, Go in between the whirling wheels, even under the cherub, and fill both your hands with coals of fire from between the cherubim, and scatter them over the city. He went in as I watched.

Charbons ardents : emblème de la sainteté de Dieu qui consume ceux qui la repoussent et qui vivifie, en les purifiant, ceux qui s'abandonnent à elle ; comparez Esaïe 6.6. On voit ici la dignité supérieure de l'homme vêtu de lin. Il pénètre jusqu'au foyer même de la vie divine, dans l'intérieur de ce chariot divin où était renfermé le feu.

Dans l'intervalle des globes. Les angles du chariot étant formés par les chérubins et ses côtés fermés par leurs ailes étendues, on ne pouvait pénétrer dans l'intérieur que par les intervalles laissés entre les roues en forme de globes qui étaient placées au pied des chérubins.
