World English Bible I will save you from all your uncleanness: and I will call for the grain, and will multiply it, and lay no famine on you.

29 et 30 Puis, pas de retour aux anciens péchés ; par conséquent, plus de famine pour châtier les pécheurs, mais la plus riche abondance.

L'opprobre dont Dieu parle ici, est celui qu'attiraient sur Israël les fréquentes famines auxquelles l'exposait la nature de son pays (voir versets 12 à 15, notes). C'est un peuple d'affamés disait-on. Sans doute Israël dut aller bien des fois, dans le cours de son histoire, chercher du pain en Egypte comme au temps des patriarches. Car la fertilité de l'Egypte ne dépendait pas des pluies locales, comme celle de la terre de Canaan.
