Afin que je m'éloigne. Ce qui doit être le résultat de leur conduite, est présenté comme en étant le but. Le peuple ne pouvait ignorer, en effet, où tout cela aboutirait. Comme il n'y a pas de pronom dans le texte hébreu, on pourrait traduire aussi : Afin de s'éloigner (le peuple) ; ce qui devrait s'expliquer dans ce sens : Afin de se faire chasser.
