Avec Abram. Dans une alliance comme celle-là, l'homme se borne à recevoir.

Je donne à ta postérité ; comparez 12.7 ; 13.15. Là il était dit : Je donnerai ; ici : Je donne.

Le fleuve d'Egypte : c'est le bras oriental du Nil. Il ne faut pas le confondre avec le torrent d'Egypte, indiqué ailleurs comme frontière (Nombres 34.5 ; Josué 15.4 etc.). Sans doute jamais, même à l'époque de sa plus grande gloire, le royaume d'Israël ne s'est étendu jusqu'au Nil. Mais les deux fleuves indiqués représentent ici les deux grands empires qu'ils arrosaient. Entre les deux s'étendra, comme troisième puissance, le royaume de David et de Salomon. C'est un nouveau trait ajouté aux promesses précédentes.

      17 Then Abraham fell on his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, "Will a child be born to him who is one hundred years old? Will Sarah, who is ninety years old, give birth?"
      18 Abraham said to God, "Oh that Ishmael might live before you!"
      19 God said, "No, but Sarah, your wife, will bear you a son. You shall call his name Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his seed after him.
      20 As for Ishmael, I have heard you. Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly. He will become the father of twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation.
      21 But my covenant I establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you at this set time next year."
      22 When he finished talking with him, God went up from Abraham.
      23 Abraham took Ishmael his son, all who were born in his house, and all who were bought with his money; every male among the men of Abraham's house, and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the same day, as God had said to him.

      Josué 15

      Josué 19

      1 The second lot came out for Simeon, even for the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families. Their inheritance was in the midst of the inheritance of the children of Judah.

      8 and all the villages that were around these cities to Baalath Beer, Ramah of the South. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families.
      9 Out of the part of the children of Judah was the inheritance of the children of Simeon; for the portion of the children of Judah was too much for them. Therefore the children of Simeon had inheritance in the midst of their inheritance.
      10 The third lot came up for the children of Zebulun according to their families. The border of their inheritance was to Sarid.
      11 Their border went up westward, even to Maralah, and reached to Dabbesheth. It reached to the brook that is before Jokneam.
      12 It turned from Sarid eastward toward the sunrise to the border of Chisloth Tabor. It went out to Daberath, and went up to Japhia.
