8 à 16 Joseph appelé comme interprète

Les scribes et les sages faisaient partie du corps sacerdotal égyptien. Ils écrivaient les hiéroglyphes ; aussi les voit-on représentés portant avec eux le matériel nécessaire ; ils étaient chargés des observations astronomiques et du cadastre, si important en Egypte pour rétablir les limites des domaines après les inondations. Ils exerçaient en même temps l'astrologie et la magie, annonçaient l'avenir et interprétaient les songes. Le roi en avait toujours un certain nombre dans son conseil ; dans des cas extraordinaires comme celui-ci, on convoquait en outre ceux des grands collèges de prêtres de l'Egypte.

Son songe : les deux songes en étaient un seul par leur signification.

L'interpréta : en hébreu, les interpréta.

      11 It is a rare thing that the king requires, and there is no other who can show it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.
      27 Daniel answered before the king, and said, The secret which the king has demanded can neither wise men, enchanters, magicians, nor soothsayers, show to the king;
