Dans la suite des jours. On peut traduire aussi : A la fin des jours, comme nous l'avons fait dans Esaïe 11.2. L'expression hébraïque désigne à la fois le temps qui s'écoulera jusqu'aux derniers jours et ces derniers jours eux-mêmes. C'est tout l'avenir envisagé comme développement et conclusion de l'état présent. Comparez Esaïe 2.2, note.

Tous les fils de Jacob étaient en vie. Le fait de les appeler tous ensemble était une exhortation pour qu'ils s'unissent dans l'amour et qu'ils ne s'intègrent pas aux Égyptiens ; il était prédit qu'ils ne devraient pas être séparés, comme le furent les fils d'Isaac et d'Abraham, et qu'ils devaient ne former qu'un seul peuple. Nous ne devons pas considérer cette réunion familiale comme l'expression dune affection privée, d'un ressentiment ou d'une certaine partialité ; nous devons la percevoir comme le langage du Saint Esprit, déclarant les buts retenus par Dieu pour cette famille, en respectant le caractère, les circonstances et la situation des tribus qui sont descendues des fils de Jacob, dont l'histoire peut être retracée.
