Avec ce verset commence la description proprement dite des effets produits sur le monde par l'apparition de l'Eternel. Les phénomènes décrits dans ce verset rappellent ce qui nous est dit de la sortie d'Egypte dans Juges 5.5 ; Exode 19.18 ; Psaumes 14.4 etc

Il suit ses voies d'autrefois. Il répète ce qu'il a fait jadis. Ses voies dans l'avenir sont toujours semblables à ce qu'elles ont été dans le passé, une suite continue de présages du jugement final. Comparez Psaumes 68.25.
