Les princes de Juda : les magistrats, probablement les princes du sang, appelés à exercer la justice ; ils sont requis de venir remplir leur office ; et., du palais royal où ils demeuraient, ils viennent prendre place dans le temple, où le prophète sera jugé publiquement.

Ils s'assirent : l'audience est ouverte.

A la porte neuve. Cette porte est mentionnée 36.10 ; c'est probablement celle que Jotham avait fait construire (2Rois 15.35). Elle conduisait au parvis intérieur.
