- La pensée de Jésus se borne-t-elle ici aux petits enfants, ainsi recommandés à la charité de ses disciples, ou cette pensée se généralise-t-elle pour embrasser aussi les adultes humbles, petits, délaissés ? Les exégètes se divisent sur cette question. Mais pourquoi ? N'est-il pas dans la nature de la charité que Jésus recommande de s'étendre à tous ? Le contexte d'ailleurs ne laisse aucun doute à cet égard. (verset 6)
