Je te rassemblerai tout entier, ô Jacob ! Je recueillerai les restes d'Israël, et je les réunirai comme les brebis d'un parc, comme un troupeau au milieu de son pâturage ; il y aura un grand bruit d'hommes.
I will surely assemble, Jacob, all of you; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as a flock in the midst of their pasture; they will swarm with people.

12 et 13 Le rétablissement du peuple après le jugement.

Le prophète passe sans transition de la censure à la promesse. Comparez un passage tout aussi brusque dans Osée 1.10.

Tout entier : Israël et Juda réunis. Comparez les perspectives semblables chez des prophètes plus anciens : Abdias 1.20 ; Osée 1.10-11. Ce ne seront que des restes, il est vrai, comme l'ont déjà dit Abdias 1.17 ; Joël 2.32 ; Amos 5.15. La promesse du retour après la dispersion ne s'adresse pas au peuple corrompu du présent, mais au reste purifié, de l'avenir.

Ce reste sera merveilleusement multiplié (la multitude des hommes). Comparez Osée 1.0. Belle image d'un troupeau rassemblé dans son enclos, à l'abri des bêtes sauvages et des voleurs.

Ces versets font probablement référence à la captivité d'Israël et de Juda. Mais ce texte est également une prophétie relative à la conversion des Juifs à Christ.

Non seulement l'Éternel libérera les enfants d’Israël et les fera fructifier, mais le Seigneur Jésus leur ouvrira également la voie du salut, en revêtant la nature humaine ; l’œuvre du Saint-Esprit en leur cœur, brisant ainsi les chaînes de Satan, complètera cette œuvre.

Du fait que Christ a fait le premier pas et a ouvert la voie du salut, ceux qui Le suivent, seront « vainqueurs », par Sa force ; ils vaincront tous les ennemis qui tenteraient de les arrêter dans leur cheminement vers les Cieux !
