Qui est le [Dieu] Fort comme toi, [qui es un Dieu] qui ôte l'iniquité, et qui passe par-dessus les péchés du reste de son héritage ? Il ne tient point à toujours sa colère, parce qu'il se plaît en la gratuité.

18 à 20 Michée clôt ce morceau (chapitre 7) et son livre tout entier par un hymne de foi et d'actions de grâces à la louange de la miséricorde divine. Ce cantique a pour parallèle dans le Nouveau Testament le magnifique éloge des voies de Dieu, Romains 11.33-36, ou l'hymne de l'assurance du salut dans la même épître (Romains 8.30-38).

Quel Dieu est semblable à toi ? Ces mots formulent le sens même du nom du prophète, Micaja (voir introduction), dont la vérité est démontrée par le contenu même du livre. Comparez d'ailleurs Exode 15.11, le cantique Exode chapitre 15, chanté après la sortie d'Egypte, est manifestement présent, à la pensée du prophète ; il en reproduit ou imite plusieurs expressions (voir plus haut, verset 15).

Qui ôtes l'iniquité... en pardonnant. Comparez Exode 34.6-7.

Il ne maintient pas à toujours... comparez Psaumes 103.9. Voilà donc le Dieu terrible de l'Ancien Testament ! a dit quelqu'un.
