World English Bible He said, "Hear now my words. If there is a prophet among you, I Yahweh will make myself known to him in a vision. I will speak with him in a dream.

Si vous avez quelque prophète. Dieu aurait pu leur dire : Quand je vous parle, à vous, comme prophètes... Mais il les humilie davantage en les faisant rentrer tous deux dans une classe plus générale, celle de ces serviteurs d'ordre inférieur (comparativement à Moïse), qu'il appelle prophètes de l'Eternel.

Vision, songe. Tantôt le prophète tombe dans l'état de sommeil dans lequel il reçoit un songe, tantôt il est transporté dans un état d'extase où une vision lui est présentée. Ce sont des tableaux énigmatiques (verset 8, énigmes), dans lesquels lui est manifestée plus ou moins obscurément la pensée divine (comparez Joël 2.28). C'est que de tels serviteurs n'ont qu'une mission particulière et momentanée au service de la grande œuvre de Dieu.
