5 à 8 Dans ces versets la beauté d'Israël restauré est décrite sous l'image de celle d'un arbre prospère : l'arrosement divin ; la beauté glorieuse ; les solides racines ; les rejetons nombreux ; le fruit savoureux ; le parfum exquis, l'ombre délicieuse ; la fleur admirable ; la réputation étendue.

La rosée, par opposition au vent desséchant de 13.15, image de la bénédiction divine, source de toute cette prospérité.

Le lis, symbole de la pureté qui remplacera la corruption.

Ses racines comme le Liban. Il est parlé plus d'une fois dans les prophètes des racines des montagnes, qui sont censées pénétrer profondément dans la terre. C'est donc la solidité du bonheur final d'Ephraïm qui est représentée par ce trait.
