Tous se joignent à lui, et le roi tombe avec les principaux juges et magistrats du pays.

Tous leurs rois... Ce tableau est celui de la fin de chacun des derniers rois d'Israël, qui tous ont péri par l'épée des conspirateurs : Sallum tue Zacharie ; Ménahem tue Sallum ; Pékach tue Pékachia, et Osée Pékach, etc. (2Rois 15.10-30).

Sans qu'aucun ait crié à moi. Cette fin lamentable n'a pas rendu plus sages les après-venants.
