Le psalmiste nous enseigne à regarder droit devant nous avec foi, par la prière, et dans l'espérance que Dieu va préparer toutes choses dans cette optique. Les succès que Dieu a octroyés à David, au travers de toutes ses bénédictions, étaient une image de la suprématie totale de Christ sur ses ennemis. Ceux qui auraient pu avoir recours à Christ en tant que règle de vie et moyen de salut, et qui l'ont rejeté ou combattu, se rappelleront s'être approchés du trône divin sans en avoir acquis les bénéfices. C'est Dieu qui, par sa grâce, produit chez les pécheurs le bon vouloir, Il les accepte en tant que tels, Il les préserve de la colère à venir. Qu'Il puisse ainsi faire abonder en notre cœur Sa Grâce toute puissante, détruisant, par là même, tous les liens qui nous tiennent solidaires du péché et de Satan. Combien grandes devraient être notre joie et notre contemplation par la prière en regardant notre Frère et Ami sur son trône et devant l'espérance de toutes les bénédictions que nous pouvons attendre de Lui ! Puissions-nous le glorifier dans son état merveilleux : Il nous a rendus capables, pauvres pécheurs que nous sommes, de recevoir Sa joie ; aimons-Le et faisons-Lui une entière confiance !
