David prie pour que les ennemis de l'église et du peuple de Dieu ne continuent pas à exercer leur méchanceté.

Nous pouvons, par la foi, prier contre les desseins des ennemis de l'église. Dieu prédit leur ruine. Qui peut connaître la force de la colère divine ?

Les victoires de Jésus-Christ ainsi que celles des élus envers les ennemis du salut, procurent une joie qui découle non pas d'une idée de revanche mais d'une vue sur la miséricorde divine, sur la justice, sur la vérité manifestée par la rédemption des élus, la punition des impies et l'accomplissement de Ses promesses. Celui qui considère ces éléments en temps voulu va rechercher avec diligence la récompense de sa droiture et aura un esprit de reconnaissance devant cette Providence divine qui régit toutes choses dans les cieux et sur la terre.
