Sacs, cordes ; signes de la reddition. Quelque cruels que se soient souvent montrés les souverains Israélites, il y avait pourtant entre eux et les rois voisins une différence généralement sentie. La foi en un Dieu tel que le leur et le sentiment de leur responsabilité devant lui, leur imposait une certaine modération.
