Remplis d'huile ta corne. Cet ordre doit montrer à Samuel qu'il n'est plus dans la volonté de Dieu en s'arrêtant à pleurer si longtemps sur Saül.

Samuel est envoyé à Bethléem, vers Jessé. (1 Samuel 16:1-5)
David reçoit l'onction de Samuel. (1 Samuel 16:6-13)
Saül est troublé par un mauvais esprit, David lui apporte le calme. (1 Samuel 16:14-23)

Il apparaît jusqu'à présent, que Saül était animé de la pire méchanceté. De quoi pouvait-il se sentir coupable, pour oser imaginer tuer Samuel ? Les anciens de Bethléem tremblèrent en voyant venir Samuel.

Il est bon de respecter, les « messagers de Dieu », en observant une certaine crainte, face à leurs paroles. Le prophète répondit qu'il venait pacifiquement, pour offrir un sacrifice à L'Éternel.

Quand notre Seigneur vint ici-bas, bien que les hommes aient de bonnes raisons de craindre que ce soit pour condamner le monde, ils purent constater que Jésus leur donna la pleine assurance de sa venue pacifique, pour offrir un Sacrifice, apportant son offrande avec Lui : Son corps, offert volontairement.

Sanctifions-nous, et bénéficions de la rédemption qu'offre Son sacrifice !
