L'alliance de Josaphat avec Achab.

- Le texte de 1Rois 22:1-53 relate le récit rapporté dans ce passage. L'abondance de richesses et les grands honneurs fournissent beaucoup d'opportunités pour pratiquer le bien, mais ils sont également à l'origine de beaucoup de pièges et de tentations. Les hommes ne connaissent pas toutes les ruses utilisées par Satan et de plus, ils ignorent à quel point certains peuvent être hypocrites, quand ils convoitent des richesses, tout en faisant croire qu'ils pratiquent le bien !

Qui peut faire du mal à ceux que Dieu protège ? Qui peut défendre ceux que Dieu a décidé d'anéantir ? Josaphat était en sûreté dans son vêtement royal, alors qu'Achab fut tué dans son armure ! Aux yeux de Dieu, une course n'est pas forcément gagnée par le plus rapide, ni une bataille par le camp le plus fort.

Nous devrions être prudents, afin de ne pas nous laisser entraîner dans les folles entreprises du monde, menées par des hommes sans scrupules ; nous devrions rester prévoyants, afin d'éviter de nous engager dans les vains projets des pécheurs. Mais quand les âmes fidèles à Dieu, réclament Son aide, Il est tout à fait capable de les conduire hors des difficultés et des dangers auxquels elles étaient exposées, suite à leur péché. Le Seigneur détient tous les cœurs en Sa main, de sorte qu'Il est capable de les sauver facilement de tout danger. Béni soit celui qui place sa confiance en Lui !
