10 à 17 Le prophète expose la raison pour laquelle l'Eternel frappera Edom : c'est sa conduite à l'égard de son frère Juda.

Au sujet des faits dont il est ici question, comparez l'introduction et Joël 3.19.

Ton frère Jacob. Le nom de Jacob est employé ici plutôt que ceux d'Israël et de Juda, pour faire rougir les Edomites, dont le père était Esaü, frère de Jacob.

La honte : celle de la défaite et de la ruine totale. Comparez Michée 7.10.
