1 à 7 L'Eternel se souvient de son peuple et le ramène de la captivité.

Et maintenant : Après toutes tes humiliations (42.25), une ère nouvelle commence (40.2).

Qui t'a créé, formé. Israël doit son existence au libre choix et aux dispensations miraculeuses de Jéhova, qui a élu Abraham et lui a donné une postérité.

Je t'ai racheté. Dieu a racheté Israël, lorsqu'il l'a tiré d'Egypte. C'est à ce moment aussi qu'il l'a pris à lui pour en faire un peuple particulièrement connu et aimé de lui entre tous les autres : je t'ai appelé par ton nom. Comparez Exode 19.1-5 ; 20.2-3.

La faveur et les bonnes résolutions de l'Éternel envers Son peuple sont de précieux réconforts pour tous les croyants. Toute âme spirituellement régénérée, « n'existe » que grâce à Dieu. Tous ceux qui sont rachetés par le sang de Son Fils, sont « mis à part ». Ceux qui sont sous le bénéfice de la faveur divine n'on aucune raison de craindre qui ou quoi que ce soit.

Que peuvent représenter tous les délices et tous les trésors égyptiens et éthiopiens, comparés au sang de Christ ? Les véritables croyants sont précieux aux yeux de Dieu ; Son plaisir est en eux, plus qu'en importe quelle autre personne. Bien que les Siens puissent traverser moult épreuves, ils ne craignent, malgré tout, aucun mal, sachant que Dieu est avec eux ; pour cela, ils doivent être « nés de nouveau », « mis à part ». L'Éternel sauve les âmes des « quatre coins » de la terre.

Le prophète, devant cette vision merveilleuse, est de nouveau encouragé, étant prêt à faire face à toute crainte ou anxiété.
