Il se repaît de cendres : l'idolâtre poursuit des choses vaines (Job 13.12 ; Osée 12.2). Ce qu'il tient dans sa main, l'idole, est mensonge : elle n'est pas ce que dit son nom, et trompe ceux qui s'y confient, (Jérémie 10.14-15).
