Genèse 16.1-26

Péniel, ou Pénuel (verset 31), face de Dieu. Ce nom de Pénuel se retrouve dans Juges 8.8, où il désigne une localité située dans cette même contrée.

Ma vie a été épargnée. C'était un principe établi, qu'on ne pouvait voir Dieu et vivre (Exode 23.20). Jacob célèbre l'exception faite en sa faveur.
