World English Bible Enoch walked with God after he became the father of Methuselah three hundred years, and became the father of sons and daughters.

Marcha avec Dieu : comme un ami avec son ami. Dans le terme marcher il y a l'idée de l'activité, et dans les mots avec Dieu, celle de la communion intime.

Cette mention si spéciale de la piété d'Hénoc, ainsi que la récompense qui lui fut accordée, prouve qu'il était supérieur sous ce rapport à tous les autres membres de la famille de Seth et qu'il y a eu par conséquent des degrés dans la piété de ceux-ci.

Il est à remarquer que Hénoc, septième chaînon de la généalogie séthite, est le pendant de Lémec, septième chaînon de la ligne caïnite. La réalisation la plus parfaite de la vie en Dieu a ainsi correspondu au degré extrême de l'endurcissement et de la révolte.
