Jean 1.1-27

Christ et tous les Siens dépendent de Dieu.

Les hommes sont souvent capables de lancer de vains débats relatifs à Dieu, sans toutefois Le connaître réellement. Ceux qui ne connaissent pas Dieu, sont semblables à ceux qui n'obéissent pas à l'évangile de Christ, 2Thessaloniciens 1:8. Tous ceux qui commencent à connaître certaines caractéristiques de la Personne de Christ, désirent toujours en savoir plus sur Lui. Ceux qui discernent l'aube de la lumière du « Soleil de Justice » » souhaitent voir le merveilleux lever de cet astre !

« Avant qu'Abraham fut, je suis ». Ceci définit Abraham, en tant que créature, notre Seigneur étant le Créateur ; ce Dernier pouvait donc Se dire plus grand qu'Abraham ! « Je Suis », est le nom de Dieu, Exode 3:14 ; Il mentionne Son « auto existence » ; Il est le Premier et le Dernier, immuable, Apocalypse 1:8.

Christ existait non seulement avant Abraham, mais avant l’origine de la terre, Proverbes 8:23;Jean 1:1. Comme Médiateur, il est le Messie, « désigné » longtemps avant l’existence d’Abraham ; Il est l'Agneau immolé, depuis la fondation du monde, Apocalypse 13:8.

Le Seigneur Jésus a été fait « Sagesse de Dieu, Justice, Sanctification, et Rédemption », même pour Adam, et Abel ; tous ceux qui ont vécu et sont morts avant Abraham, en ayant la foi en Dieu, bénéficient de cette Sagesse.

Nous voyons dans ce texte que les Juifs étaient sur le point de lapider Jésus, pour Ses paroles soi disant blasphématoires, mais le Seigneur se retira ; grâce à Sa puissance miraculeuse, Il leur échappa, indemne !

Puissions-nous professer avec fermeté ce que nous connaissons et ce que nous croyons, à propos de Dieu ; si nous sommes réellement « héritiers » de la foi d'Abraham, nous nous réjouirons alors, en attendant avec impatience ce jour où le Sauveur apparaîtra dans Sa Gloire, à la grande confusion de tous Ses ennemis, pour parfaire le salut de ceux qui croient en Lui !
