World English Bible Yahweh, the hope of Israel, all who forsake you shall be disappointed. Those who depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken Yahweh, the spring of living waters.

Ceux qui se détournent de moi. Le prophète, après avoir parlé à Dieu au nom d'Israël, s'adresse maintenant à Israël de la part de Dieu. Puis à la fin du verset il parle de nouveau à Dieu à la seconde personne.

Inscrits sur la terre : non sur la poussière, comme plusieurs traduisent ; sur la terre, de manière à passer avec elle. Cette image est opposée à celle de l'inscription du nom dans le livre de vie, en vertu de laquelle le fidèle demeure à toujours. Peut-être allusion au péché verset 1.
