      1 Now after these things, in the reign of Artaxerxes king of Persia, Ezra the son of Seraiah, the son of Azariah, the son of Hilkiah,
      6 this Ezra went up from Babylon: and he was a ready scribe in the law of Moses, which Yahweh, the God of Israel, had given; and the king granted him all his request, according to the hand of Yahweh his God on him.
      10 For Ezra had set his heart to seek the law of Yahweh, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and ordinances.
      11 Now this is the copy of the letter that the king Artaxerxes gave to Ezra the priest, the scribe, even the scribe of the words of the commandments of Yahweh, and of his statutes to Israel:

      Esdras 10

      1 Now while Ezra prayed and made confession, weeping and casting himself down before God's house, there was gathered together to him out of Israel a very great assembly of men and women and children; for the people wept very bitterly.
      2 Shecaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered Ezra, "We have trespassed against our God, and have married foreign women of the peoples of the land. Yet now there is hope for Israel concerning this thing.
      5 Then Ezra arose, and made the chiefs of the priests, the Levites, and all Israel, to swear that they would do according to this word. So they swore.
      6 Then Ezra rose up from before God's house, and went into the room of Jehohanan the son of Eliashib: and when he came there, he ate no bread, nor drank water; for he mourned because of their trespass of the captivity.
      10 Ezra the priest stood up, and said to them, "You have trespassed, and have married foreign women, to increase the guilt of Israel.
      16 The children of the captivity did so. Ezra the priest, with certain heads of fathers' households, after their fathers' houses, and all of them by their names, were set apart; and they sat down in the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter.

      Néhémie 8

      1 All the people gathered themselves together as one man into the broad place that was before the water gate; and they spoke to Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses, which Yahweh had commanded to Israel.
      2 Ezra the priest brought the law before the assembly, both men and women, and all who could hear with understanding, on the first day of the seventh month.
      4 Ezra the scribe stood on a pulpit of wood, which they had made for the purpose; and beside him stood Mattithiah, and Shema, and Anaiah, and Uriah, and Hilkiah, and Maaseiah, on his right hand; and on his left hand, Pedaiah, and Mishael, and Malchijah, and Hashum, and Hashbaddanah, Zechariah, and Meshullam.
      5 Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people; (for he was above all the people;) and when he opened it, all the people stood up:
      6 and Ezra blessed Yahweh, the great God. All the people answered, "Amen, Amen," with the lifting up of their hands. They bowed their heads, and worshiped Yahweh with their faces to the ground.
      9 Nehemiah, who was the governor, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites who taught the people, said to all the people, "This day is holy to Yahweh your God. Don't mourn, nor weep." For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law.
      13 On the second day were gathered together the heads of fathers' households of all the people, the priests, and the Levites, to Ezra the scribe, even to give attention to the words of the law.

      Néhémie 12

      1 Now these are the priests and the Levites who went up with Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua: Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra,
      13 of Ezra, Meshullam; of Amariah, Jehohanan;
      26 These were in the days of Joiakim the son of Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah the governor, and of Ezra the priest the scribe.
      33 and Azariah, Ezra, and Meshullam,
      36 and his brothers, Shemaiah, and Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethanel, and Judah, Hanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of God; and Ezra the scribe was before them.

Et comme la main 03027 de l’Eternel 03068, son Dieu 0430, était sur lui, le roi 04428 lui accorda 05414 08799 tout ce qu’il avait demandé 01246.
      10 Car Esdras 05830 avait appliqué 03559 08689 son cœur 03824 à étudier 01875 08800 et à mettre en pratique 06213 08800 la loi 08451 de l’Eternel 03068, et à enseigner 03925 08763 au milieu d’Israël 03478 les lois 02706 et les ordonnances 04941.
      11 Voici la copie 06572 de la lettre 05406 donnée 05414 08804 par le roi 04428 Artaxerxès 0783 à Esdras 05830, sacrificateur 03548 et scribe 05608 08802, enseignant 05608 08802 les commandements 01697 04687 et les lois 02706 de l’Eternel 03068 concernant Israël 03478:

      Esdras 10

      1 Pendant qu’Esdras 05830, pleurant 01058 08802 et prosterné 05307 08693 devant 06440 la maison 01004 de Dieu 0430, faisait cette prière 06419 08692 et cette confession 03034 08692, il s’était rassemblé 06908 08738 auprès de lui une foule 06951 très 03966 nombreuse 07227 de gens d’Israël 03478, hommes 0582, femmes 0802 et enfants 03206, et le peuple 05971 répandait 01058 08804 d’abondantes 07235 08687 larmes 01059.

Mais Israël 03478 ne reste 03426 pas pour cela sans espérance 04723.
      5 Esdras 05830 se leva 06965 08799, et il fit jurer 07650 08686 aux chefs 08269 des sacrificateurs 03548, des Lévites 03881, et de tout Israël 03478, de faire 06213 08800 ce qui venait d’être dit 01697. Et ils le jurèrent 07650 08735.
      6 Puis Esdras 05830 se retira 06965 08799 de devant 06440 la maison 01004 de Dieu 0430, et il alla 03212 08799 dans la chambre 03957 de Jochanan 03076, fils 01121 d’Eliaschib 0475 ; quand il y fut entré 03212 08799, il ne mangea 0398 08804 point de pain 03899 et il ne but 08354 08804 point d’eau 04325, parce qu’il était dans la désolation 056 08693 à cause du péché 04604 des fils de la captivité 01473.
      10 Esdras 05830, le sacrificateur 03548, se leva 06965 08799 et leur dit 0559 08799 : Vous avez péché 04603 08804 en vous alliant 03427 08686 à des femmes 0802 étrangères 05237, et vous avez rendu Israël 03478 encore 03254 08687 plus coupable 0819.
      16 auquel se conformèrent 06213 08799 les fils 01121 de la captivité 01473. On choisit 0914 08735 Esdras 05830, le sacrificateur 03548, et des 0582 chefs 07218 de famille 01 selon leurs maisons 01004 paternelles 01, tous désignés par leurs noms 08034 ; et ils siégèrent 03427 08799 le premier 0259 jour 03117 du dixième 06224 mois 02320 pour s’occuper 01875 08800 de la chose 01697.

      Néhémie 8

      1 Alors tout le peuple 05971 s’assembla 0622 08735 comme un seul 0259 homme 0376 sur la place 07339 qui est devant 06440 la porte 08179 des eaux 04325. Ils dirent 0559 08799 à Esdras 05830, le scribe 05608 08802, d’apporter 0935 08687 le livre 05612 de la loi 08451 de Moïse 04872, prescrite 06680 08765 par l’Eternel 03068 à Israël 03478.
      2 Et le sacrificateur 03548 Esdras 05830 apporta 0935 08686 la loi 08451 devant 06440 l’assemblée 06951, composée d’hommes 0376 et de femmes 0802 et de tous ceux qui étaient capables 0995 08688 de l’entendre 08085 08800. C’était le premier 0259 jour 03117 du septième 07637 mois 02320.
      4 Esdras 05830, le scribe 05608 08802, était placé 05975 08799 sur une estrade 04026 de bois 06086, dressée 06213 08804 à cette occasion 01697.       5 Esdras 05830 ouvrit 06605 08799 le livre 05612 à la vue 05869 de tout le peuple 05971, car il était élevé au-dessus de tout le peuple 05971 ; et lorsqu’il l’eut ouvert 06605 08800, tout le peuple 05971 se tint en place 05975 08804.
      6 Esdras 05830 bénit 01288 08762 l’Eternel 03068, le grand 01419 Dieu 0430, et tout le peuple 05971 répondit 06030 08799, en levant 04607 les mains 03027 : Amen 0543 ! amen 0543 ! Et ils s’inclinèrent 06915 08799 et se prosternèrent 07812 08691 devant l’Eternel 03068, le visage 0639 contre terre 0776.
      9 Néhémie 05166, le gouverneur 08660, Esdras 05830, le sacrificateur 03548 et le scribe 05608 08802, et les Lévites 03881 qui enseignaient 0995 08688 le peuple 05971, dirent 0559 08799 à tout le peuple 05971 : Ce jour 03117 est consacré 06918 à l’Eternel 03068, votre Dieu 0430 ; ne soyez pas dans la désolation 056 08691 et dans les larmes 01058 08799 ! Car tout le peuple 05971 pleurait 01058 08802 en entendant 08085 08800 les paroles 01697 de la loi 08451.
      13 Le second 08145 jour 03117, les chefs 07218 de famille 01 de tout le peuple 05971, les sacrificateurs 03548 et les Lévites 03881, s’assemblèrent 0622 08738 auprès d’Esdras 05830, le scribe 05608 08802, pour entendre 07919 08687 l’explication des paroles 01697 de la loi 08451.

      1 Voici les sacrificateurs 03548 et les Lévites 03881 qui revinrent 05927 08804 avec Zorobabel 02216, fils 01121 de Schealthiel 07597, et avec Josué 03442 : Seraja 08304, Jérémie 03414, Esdras 05830,
      13 pour Esdras 05830, Meschullam 04918 ; pour Amaria 0568, Jochanan 03076 ;
      26 Ils vivaient au temps 03117 de Jojakim 03113, fils 01121 de Josué 03442, fils 01121 de Jotsadak 03136, et au temps 03117 de Néhémie 05166, le gouverneur 06346, et d’Esdras 05830, le sacrificateur 03548 et le scribe 05608 08802.
