Comparer verset 14. Ce terme rigoureux : Egorgez-les, correspond à l'idée du souverain politique, qui fait périr des gens révoltés contre son autorité ; il s'appliqua littéralement à des milliers et des centaines de milliers de Juifs, quarante ans plus tard. Mais, de plus, c'est une prédiction du redoutable jugement de Dieu qui atteindra les rebelles au dernier jour.

- Il y a donc, dans cette parabole, deux actions parallèles : l'une qui se passe entre un souverain et des sujets révoltés, l'autre qui a lieu entre le maître et ses serviteurs dont il éprouve la fidélité.
