Contient sa colère ; il ne s'agit pas ici de la patience qui laisse le temps à la repentance (Esaïe 30.18 ; Romains 2.4). La paix dont jouissent les ennemis de Dieu ne doit pas les rassurer pour l'avenir ; l'orage s'accumule et voici le moment où il va eclater.

La tempête, image fréquente pour décrire les jugements de Dieu (Psaumes 18.7-15) dans ce qu'ils ont d'effrayant, de subit et d'irrésistible. Les nuées qui s'amassent dans le ciel sont la poussière que l'Eternel soulève dans sa marche.
