Parce que vous n'avez pas cru. Ce que nous venons de dire n'empêche pas que la conduite de Dieu envers ses deux fidèles serviteurs ne puisse paraître bien sévère. Mais il faut se rappeler qu'il est plus redemandé à celui qui a plus reçu et que plus un fidèle a pénétré dans l'intimité du souverain, plus une faute, même légère en apparence, qu'il commet à son égard, acquiert de gravité.
