Détruira leurs statues, littéralement : abattre leur sommet ; peut-être est-il ici question, ainsi qu'au verset 1, de simples colonnes, telles qu'en élevaient les Cananéens, en souvenir de quelque événement ou à l'honneur de leurs dieux, par exemple celles de Baal et d'Astarté (1Rois 14.23).
