21 à 26 Cinquième discours

Plusieurs regardent ces versets comme faisant encore partie du discours précédent, dont ils seraient l'application.

Ne les perds pas de vue. Le mot les se rapporte aux vertus mentionnées en dernier lieu (sagesse, intelligence, science). Les versets 19 et 20 les considéraient en Dieu, mais Dieu en fait part aux hommes.

Nous ne devons pas tolérer que les Paroles de Christ s'éloignent de nous, mais nous devons nous évertuer à garder une sagesse ferme, dans une certaine discrétion : nous marcherons alors en sécurité, dans les voies du Seigneur.

Notre vie, ici-bas, et tous nos intérêts, seront alors sous la protection de la Providence divine ; notre vie spirituelle et toutes ses bénédictions, seront placées sous l’égide de la Grâce, de façon à être gardés de tomber dans le péché.
