Garde ta langue..., ou : qu'il garde sa langue. C'est la réponse à la question qui vient d'être faite. Il faut aux jeunes gens des conseils précis et pratiques. La langue trahit infailliblement les dispositions du cœur (Jacques 3.2 et suivants). David, qui a souffert de la calomnie et de l'envie, s'élève spécialement contre les paroles trompeuses (comparez Psaumes 15.3), et recommande l'amour de la paix (verset 15).
